ABOUT

Located in Sassafras, in the Dandenong Ranges, Monreale House was built in 1923 and has been a guest house for most of its time. The cottages were added to the property in the late nineties along with more beautiful additions to the old gardens.

The four guest cottages are set amongst the gardens and are quite private, making them the perfect places to unwind, relax and take in the beauty of the nature that surrounds.

As Monreale House is situated in a rain forest gully, bird watching is incredible, with many species visiting the property each day. You can sit back and watch them from the comfort of your cottage, and if you are lucky, you will see one of the Lyrebirds walk by as it makes impressions. There are local wombats, possums, wallabies and deer that also wander through.

Charming little towns with interesting shops, cafes, bakeries, restaurants and pubs are found throughout the Dandenong Ranges and most are within a short drive from Monreale House. You can also access beautiful bush walks, with some walks right in front of the property. Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens is across the road which is very popular for a stroll or picnic on the grass.

The start of the Yarra Valley wine region is only half an hour from Monreale House with more than enough venues to make you wish you had more time!

Monreale house is an adults only, no pets allowed property. Upon arrival you will understand why.
